Businesses

Shops sit on the ground floors of shopping streets and corners; offices and industry fill their own blocks. Jobs are a rough estimate from floor area.

Figures

Floor area comes from the houses built in 3D. Homes assume 78% of floor area is living space and 82 m² per home; residents assume 2.05 per home. Density counts the blocks and half the streets round them.

Detail

Fine detail up close

Blocks far away are drawn as simple shapes and come into full detail as you zoom in; up close they get glazing bars and finer mouldings. Switch fine detail off on a slow phone.

Tidy streets (angle guides)

New streets snap square to the streets they start from, cross or end on, and may not cross another street at less than 30°, which would leave a sliver block. Hold Alt (Option on a Mac) to draw freely for a moment. Streets already drawn stay as they are.
